Employee Benefits Account Manager

We have an immediate opening for an Employee Benefit Account Manager in Lynchburg, VA to serve as the primary point of contact for client interaction, service and sales.
The Benefits Account Manager serves our clients by providing product and service information.  You will be the first point of contact for our clients when they need assistance resolving product and service concerns and service requests for new and renewal insurance accounts.  If you enjoy working in a dynamic environment that rewards excellence and encourages entrepreneurial thinking, we’d like to hear from you!
Responsibilities of Employer Benefit Services Account Manager will be to:


    • Provide superior customer service to group administrators, including coverage questions, claims issues, administrative questions, etc.
    • Conduct market analysis before the anniversary date of all clients coverage’s for both new and renewal business.
    • Assist group administrator when necessary to solve difficult claim problems.
    • Ensure all contracts/policies are accurate and current.
    • Assist the accounting department in reconciling any commission shortages/overages by making internal accounting adjustments, contacting insurance carriers, etc. to determine the source of the problem.
    • Document all activities in the Applied System as well as Zywave’s Brokerage Builder agency management system, including phone conversations, letters, RFP’s, proposals, memos, and emails.
    • Prepare new business and renewal proposals.
    • Support the Zywave tool as it relates to clients and internal broker use.
    • Maintain current client files in an orderly manner through the use of the automated files in the agency management system.

    Ideal Employer Benefit Services Account Manager candidates have the following:


      • 2 years of benefit administration experience required
      • Life, Accident, & Health License  or the ability to obtain within 90 days
      • CEBS designation and/or work towards the designation preferred
      • Two to four year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
      • Proficient computer skills – Agency Management Systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
