Director of Compliance

We currently have an opening for a Director of Compliance and Legislative Affairs.  This position can be located in multiple offices including:

     

    • Greenville, SC

     
    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance to our employee benefit consultants and their clients in compliance with a broad range of laws applicable to health and welfare plans, including ERISA, PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Internal Revenue Code (including Section 125), FSAs, HRAs, HSAs, FMLA and other state and federal laws. The position requires the individual to work closely with Benefits Consultants and their clients to drive understanding, interpretation and develop process around compliance.  The role would also include research, responding to benefits compliance inquiries, conduct market education webinars and seminars.   Moreover, the Director would be the lead coordinator in providing internal training for our employee benefit consultants and support team. The Director will also assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of our client compliance resources.   As a trusted advisor, the Director is expected to be effective in communicating complex legislative and compliance details to the marketplace so that pragmatic solutions and action items can be deployed.
     
    Responsibilities of the Director of Compliance include:

       

    • Stays abreast of the changing legislative and regulatory landscape.
    • Works closely with Company clients in communicating the impact of new legislation and develop pragmatic solutions for their compliance with all aspects of their health and welfare needs.
    • Responds to benefits questions concerning health and welfare plan compliance
    • Develops and maintains internal and external employee benefits compliance tools and resources
    • Drafts benefits compliance whitepapers and other important communications in a concise, easy-to-understand manner
    • Conducts employee benefit compliance seminars and webinars
    • Performs client compliance checklist reviews in conjunction with account management teams

     

    Requirements of the Director of Compliance:

       

        • Minimum 4 years of experience in employee benefits compliance
        • Prior experience with federal or state governmental regulatory body a plus
        • CEBS designation (or equivalent industry experience) preferred
        • Must have excellent presentation skills
        • Must have knowledge of laws and regulations governing health and welfare plans
        • Must have excellent research skills
        • Must be adept in customer service and successful interaction with clients
        • Must be detail oriented and thorough in completion of all assignments
        • Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
